John A. Berryhill

John A. Berryhill has served the Santa Barbara community for over fifty years. He earned a B.A. from the University of Santa Barbara, California in 1965 and a Juris Doctorate from Hastings Law School in 1968. John then earned his Master of Law degree from Georgetown University in 1971.

He started his career as an Assistant City Attorney for Santa Barbara before entering private practice. He has been a member of the State Bar of California since January of 1969.

He served as Commodore of the Santa Barbara Yacht Club in 2005 and has been a member since 1997.

He is married to Caron Berryhill and have 3 children along with 7 grandchildren. John and Caron enjoy traveling, boating, and spending time with family and friends.

Mary Jane Miller

Mary Jane Miller has served the Santa Barbara community practicing law in the area of estate planning, trusts, estates and conservatorship proceedings for nearly 40 years. A California native, she earned a B.A. in philosophy from California State University, Fresno, in 1975 and a J.D. from the Santa Barbara Colleges of Law in 1982. She has been an active member of the State Bar of California since 1982 and is licensed to practice before the United States Tax Court.

In addition to her law practice, Mary Jane was a founding member Santa Barbara Women Lawyers and was Co-Founder of the Elder Law Section of Santa Barbara County Bar Association. She is a trustee emeritus of the Santa Barbara & Ventura College of Law. Mary Jane is a member of the Santa Barbara Estate Planning Council.

Mary Jane and her husband, Alan Miller, have five children and twelve grandchildren. She enjoys travel, working in her garden, cooking and spending time with her young grandkids.

Andrew D. Miller

Andrew Miller was born and raised in Carpinteria, California. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) and a Juris Doctor from the Santa Barbara College of Law.  


Andrew focuses his practice on estate planning matters including trusts, wills, conservatorships, probate and trust administration, and has experience with business associations, contracts, and real property matters. He previously interned for the Santa Barbara Superior Court under the Hon. Michael J. Carrozzo and aided in research relating to insurance fraud.

Prior to obtaining his JD degree Andrew served as Veteran Service Representative with the County of Santa Barbara where he assisted veterans and their families in obtaining benefits through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the California Department of Veterans Affairs, and other organizations which provide services to veterans.

Andrew served in the United States Army for 5 years and is an Accredited Attorney through the Department of Veterans Affairs. As a VA Accredited Attorney, Andrew continues to advocate for veterans and their families. His experience as a combat veteran taught him the discipline, integrity, and dedication necessary to advocate zealously for his clients.

Andrew currently serves as the Board Chair for the Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation and formally served as a Director for the Santa Barbara Barristers.  Andrew was a participant in the initial Santa Barbara County Veterans Treatment Court team.

Andrew enjoys spending time with his wife Giana and coaching their two young sons’ sports teams

Karen Shaw

Karen has been a paralegal at Miller & Berryhill for over 23 years. She graduated from the University of California Santa Barbara with a Bachelors of Arts in Law and Society. Karen enjoys spending time with her daughter and mother. In her free time she enjoys the outdoors, traveling and spending time with family.
